Liner Notes:
To commemorate the fortieth anniversary of Ricky Nelson's recording career I have reunited his original band circa
1961 or so, and recorded a brand new album of all new material that feels, looks and sounds like the incredible music
that he was making for Imperial Records between 1957 and 1962.
To hear James Burton, Joe Osborn, Glen D. Hardin and the Jordanaires singing and playing together at RCA's legendary
Studio B was truly a sight and sound to behold. They did it for Rick. They did it for the past. And in a strange way, they did
it for the future too. To show the ever current relevancy of truly great rock and roll played right.
As James Burton told me a few weeks after the session, "Threk, you're putting a new face on my old sound.." And of course
that was exactly the idea -- to make the last great Rick and Roll album of this millennium. I think Ricky would have loved
the idea. I hope you do too. The album is entitled "As True As You (Songs for Ricky)." Enjoy!
Sincerely, Threk Michaels
